EFS is an autonomous organization within the Swedish Church with emphasis on lekmannaskap, a personal faith and mission. Particular to EFS is that thousands of volunteers put a lot of effort and time in the Mission Society's work.
EFS want to meet people where they are, who they are. Personal repentance and personal involvement is important in the movement.
EFS include the 20.000 people who have chosen to join together in mission associations and other groups in their localities.
EFS was formed in 1856 as a revival of the Swedish Church. The sentence to be tt organize the burning of the Gospel and who wanted to remain within the Swedish Church.
